Introduce yourself:

21, Malibu, CA, Pepperdine, Advertising with a concentration in Communications, plans after graduation include traveling or laying low for a little then job hunting for something that excites me that includes something creative that can range from anywhere such as interior design to digital marketing.

How do you define success?

I define success by doing something that genuinely fulfills my soul and makes me happy. This can look different for everyone but for me success is measured by how fulfilling and gratifying something is in the long run. I want to be excited by my profession and look forward to devoting my time and energy to it.

What are your goals/dreams and where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I see myself doing something creative where I can devote my time into a profession that is exciting for me. I just want to continue working towards my happiness. Right now, I see myself exploring a few career paths that have to do with interior design, marketing, or hospitality. I honestly don’t know what that is yet but I'm learning more about what I do and don’t like as I go throughout life.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by seeing my progress in my life because that encourages me to keep moving forward. For example all throughout middle school and into highschool I really struggled academically and didn’t have much confidence in myself at all. I now have accomplished things I never would have thought possible, and have a much better sense of self because of how hard I have worked in the past. Looking back on this motivates me to keep going to make myself, as well as those around me proud.

What is something that you do (a habit or daily practice) that you believe helps you achieve your goals or be productive?

When I was younger I was taught to keep a daily planner and write down everything I wanted/needed to get done. I wrote in due dates, reminders, plans, and more. Everyday for years now I look at my planner because it helps me be organized and not be too overwhelmed which is so important. It really makes life seem more doable instead of getting in my head too much. This also helped with time management which was huge in helping me achieve my goals.

Who is your inspiration and why?

My inspiration comes from my mom and dad. Through thick & thin they have supported me in all that I do which has not been easy. They’re just the best. They have worked so hard their entire lives, they’re so generous, humble, have the best hearts, and have always been so supportive in helping me figure out who I am. I want to be able to help provide for and motivate my loved ones in every way possible, which is what they have done for me.

Life motto or favorite quote?

The key to happiness is gratitude. Being thankful for what you have is all about perception and the more gratitude you practice, the happier you will be. It is so easy to play the victim role in life but this quote has really helped me and my mindset on life especially when life has not been easy.

Anything else you want to share? Perhaps a project you’re currently working on or something valuable that you learned from an experience?

I think it’s really important to give something your all. Whether it be a job, relationship, anything really. Giving something your everything is important because you learn about yourself and your potential.
